There’s no secret that there are great reward cards out there. What these cards are going to do for you is simply give you a certain percentage back when you make a purchase. For example, let’s say that the credit card gives you 5% back on your purchase. You head to a local hardware store, spend $100 and you will get $5 back on your credit card statement. Yes, it’s that easy!
Tricks to saving with your credit card:
First, make sure that you’re getting a card that is going to save you money in the home improvement department. You’re going to find that these reward cards are going to give you bonus cash back when you make a purchase on particular category. You may want to consider getting a store branded card from stores such as Home Depot and more.
When you find a card that you can apply for, make sure that you always pay the bill off in full. If you don’t pay the bill off in full, you’re going to find that you’re going to be paying crazy amounts in interest rates. This is something that you don’t want to do, since it will offset your savings.
Next, when you apply for a card, make sure you get your reviews online. Make sure you see what other people think of it. The last thing that you want to do is apply for a card that is a scam. The FRB has a fantastic guide on finding the right card.
